What made me worried was the rate of migration from village to towns. I assume the local production will get easy market. The road afterward Bhiman in Sindhuli side was more or less serpentine. The soil was mostly sandy as we passed by the Kamala River. Until Katari, we could see maize field across the roadside. We passed along the base of Chure region. For me, the place was new and the road was recently black topped in most of the part. I was astonished to know that the ropeway carried limestone from a distance as far as 18 km.įew days ago, I travelled through Bhiman-Katari-Gaighat-Chatara-Dharan road. The state-owned factory was constructed by Japan. The comparison between Udayapur and Hetauda Cement factory was made in one of my classes. Few years ago, Udayapur made its name with it Cement factory which was established as long back as my birth.
I imagined travelling to Udayapur by bus like in the song – तिमीलाइ देखेर by Raju Lama. I memory-mapped Udayapur with cold weather and what not. As the name goes, the sunlight should have kissed Udayapur after its first ray on Himalayas. In no time, I thought Udayapur should be land on Himalayas. I was bemused by her Aryan cum Mongolian look. Her eyes were wide open with black colored eyeballs and a flat nose. Her short silky hair was just floating above her shoulders. She was a medium-height girl in her late teen. By then, I knew nothing about Udayapur except its administrative center – Gaighat, that too a rote learning.
I felt awkward, nevertheless, I asked her where she was from. She tried to disguise as she just introduced herself with her name. With a smile on my face, I introduced myself. Almost 12 years ago, I met a girl whom I befriended later.
